What is allowed
Brazilian licensed casino payments may use only the payment methods permitted by Portaria SPA/MF nº 615/2024. The permitted list is closed, so a method is not lawful for the licensed market merely because it is available elsewhere.
The permitted methods are Pix, TED, debit card, prepaid card, and book transfer (a transfer within the same organisation). These five methods apply to the regulated payment framework for licensed casino operators in Brazil.
Pix is a permitted instant-payment method. TED is a permitted bank-transfer method.
A debit card is a permitted payment method. A prepaid card is a permitted payment method.
Book transfer is a permitted transfer within one organisation. The regulation does not add other payment categories to this list.
What is banned
Brazilian licensed casinos may not accept cash, boleto, cheques, credit cards or any post-paid instrument, cryptoassets, third-party transfers, or payments from an account that the player has not registered in advance.
Boleto is not lawful on the licensed casino market. Older reviews may still suggest boleto, but those references do not describe the permitted payment list under Portaria SPA/MF nº 615/2024.
Credit cards and every other post-paid instrument are not lawful on the licensed casino market. A credit-card reference in an older review does not make credit-card payments lawful for a licensed operator.
Cryptoassets are outside the permitted list. Cash and cheques are also outside the permitted list.
Payments from third parties are prohibited. A payment from an account that has not been registered by the player in advance is also prohibited.
What operators actually declare
RTP Index checked 186 licensed operators on 2026-08-07. Of those 186 operators, 109 did not publish payment-method information in the open.
Operator disclosures identified Pix for deposits at 46 operators. Operator disclosures identified Pix for withdrawals at 4 operators.
The reviewed disclosures identified credit cards for deposits at 0 operators and for withdrawals at 0 operators. The same review identified debit cards for deposits at 0 operators and for withdrawals at 0 operators.
The reviewed disclosures identified boleto for deposits at 0 operators and for withdrawals at 0 operators. The reviewed disclosures identified bank transfer for deposits at 0 operators and for withdrawals at 0 operators.
The reviewed disclosures identified TED for deposits at 0 operators and for withdrawals at 0 operators. Five methods are permitted by regulation, but Pix is the only method appearing in the disclosed deposit and withdrawal information.
This gap explains the practical appearance of a single-method market. The regulation excludes boleto, credit cards, cryptoassets and other alternatives, while most licensed operators publish no payment-method terms and the published declarations identify Pix alone.
The registered player account
Casino funds may move only between the operator’s account and the player’s own account that the player registered in advance. This account rule applies to the source of the payment rather than to a general assumption that any available account can be used.
A player cannot deposit with someone else’s card. A relative’s account cannot be used for a casino payment because transfers from third parties are prohibited.
A player cannot send funds from an account that was not registered in advance. Registering the player’s own account is a condition of the permitted payment route.
The account rule prevents a practical error that can arise when a player uses a family member’s card or bank account. The relevant relationship is player-owned registered account to operator account, not relative-owned account to operator account.
What almost nobody publishes
None of the 186 licensed operators checked by RTP Index published a minimum payment amount. The number of operators disclosing a minimum amount was 0.
Only 4 of the 186 licensed operators checked published a withdrawal timeframe. The remaining public operator information does not provide a disclosed withdrawal timeframe in the survey data.
The absence of published minimum amounts means that no minimum can be stated from this operator review. The absence of disclosed withdrawal timeframes means that no general withdrawal duration can be stated from this operator review.
A permitted method and a published operational term are different facts. The law permits five methods, while the surveyed operator disclosures provide limited information about how those methods are applied in practice.
The 120-minute prize-payment rule
The 120-minute rule is a deadline for paying a prize, described as pagamento de prêmios. It is not a deadline for every withdrawal of funds.
A withdrawal should not be described as subject to a 120-minute deadline merely because the prize-payment rule exists. The stated rule concerns prize payment and does not establish a universal withdrawal timeframe.
The survey found that 4 of 186 licensed operators published a withdrawal timeframe. That disclosure figure does not convert the 120-minute prize-payment deadline into a deadline for any withdrawal.
